Horton Legacy
Horton Crossbows. Anyone educated on their differences?
I had some great answers to my last question about crossbows. I did my homework and decided I want a Horton or Barnett and that I want a 150 or 175 lb. bow. I am leaning towards the Horton line. I notice there are different models such as the Legend, Legacy, Team Realtree, and Hunter, all of which I may be interested in. They all offer 150 and 175lb models--but what is the difference between them other than the name? Does anyone know? Please provide as much information as possible, or as they say, "tell me like i'm a 5 year old."
There is some difference in the products, I will do my best to explain them.
Legacy:
The main item about this line of crossbows are that they are traditional meaning they have recurve type limbs. It come with an adjustable stock that is very helpful. It also has a match grade trigger which is nice.
Legend:
This bow has cams at the end of its limbs. What this means is they are able to make the same power with having alot less limb hanging out. The only thing to worry about is that if you are hunting with the recurve type bow, the limbs may be an issue while walking threw the woods. The legend also has the same features as the legacy above including the match grade trigger. The Legend aslo has a more streamline type rifle stock instead of the typical crossbow style forearm.
Team Realtree:
This bow comes with many of the same features once again however, the limbs are fat body limbs and DO NOT CARRY the lifetime guarantee that the others do. Some of the things you will see on this crossbow are less quality controlled that that of the two above. It does NOT have an adjustable stock so if you go for it, make sure it fits you first !
Hunter:
The Hunter is almost identical to the legend. The main difference is that the Hunter has the main stream crossbow stock that most will have.
Quality ( Highest to lowest)
Legacy
Hunter
Legend
Team Realtree
and the prices should reflect that.
all in alll they are all excellent crossbows and MUCH better than anything that Barnett offers ! If you wanted to compare the Hortons to another brand, I would check out the Parker line of crossbows.
Hope this helps, Good Luck & Happy Shooting !!!

Olympic Heights Neighborhood in Austin, Texas
Nestled on the southern side of Austin, Olympic Heights is about 1.5 miles south of West Slaughter Lane. Entrances to the community are located on Marcus Abrams Boulevard off of Manchaca Road, and another on Frate Barker Road. The subdivision is known for its comfortable and affordable living style, as it's the lowest priced master-planned D.R. Horton community in the area.
Beautiful landscaping, street lamps, and nature trails make their home in the area, giving Olympic Heights a truly peaceful atmosphere. The streets that wind through are named after Olympic medalists like Mary Lou Retton, Jesse Owens, and Wilma Rudolph. To keep the area safe and discourage unwanted traffic, roundabouts were added to several of the streets.
Construction began in 2003 and was completed in 2008. It's common to find single- and two-story homes that are ideal for young families, many with brick or native stone exteriors. The homes in the neighborhood are a bit smaller than those found in surrounding subdivisions, many with three bedrooms and two or three bathrooms. From January 2009 to May 2010, sold home sizes ranged from 1,123 to 2,073 square feet, and sold prices ranged from $132,122 to $208,750.
Membership in the Olympic Heights Homeowners Association is required for all residents. The association is paid a yearly fee that helps maintain the neighborhood's community center and other common areas. Additional information, including classified ads, garage sale listings, and an online payment area can be found on the website.

For those who enjoy golf, the Onion Creek Club is three miles away. The 27-hole course is known as the "Birthplace of the Senior PGA Tour" and was founded by three-time Masters Champion, Jimmy Demaret. You can join the club as a Golf Member or Tennis Member. Each will get you access to the respective sport, as well as the club's fitness center, Junior Olympic-sized pool, baby pool, and six outdoor lighted tennis courts.
There is also plenty of shopping and entertainment nearby. The Southpark Meadows shopping center, located at Slaughter Lane and I-35, boasts a variety of popular retail stores like Ashley Furniture, JC Penney, Oshkosh B'Gosh, and Petland. There are also many restaurants – both casual and formal – including Carino's Italian Restaurant, Chili's Bar & Grill, Mama Fu's Asian House, and Texas Roadhouse. Or, you and your family can take in a movie at the Cinemark Theater, also in the shopping complex. For groceries, there's a Super Target, Wal-Mart Supercenter, and H.E.B. Foods within three miles of Olympic Heights.
